The last kid icarus game "kid icarus:
of myths and monsters".

After 25 years pit is back with his best game yet. The kid icarus series is based upon the story of icarus from greek mythology. After 25 years not a lot of people are going to remember the story from the last game so nintendo basically came up with a new one. Medusa is (somehow) revived after 25 years and you must stop her. This game plays wonderfully over all. The controls however do no use any of the left side of the system which was unclear to me when I first play. I though to shoot you had to press one of the buttons on the left but as it turns out the left side is used for left handed players. A level is made up of a 5 minute air battle segment a 3 minute land battle segment and about a 1 to 2 minute boss battle at the end of each level. The game is scripted amazingly and the chemistry between characters is wonderful. Players will enjoy the many weapons the game has to offer from bows to clubs the game is full of weapons. The game also has a super smash bros. type of set up. From the menu looking a lot like the super smash bros. brawl menu to the food that you can pick up during gameplay to gain heath. There are also different kinds of vehicles to choose from. From the exo tank to the chrubot (chrubot is better in my opinion) they both have different kinds of attacks. The exo tank is better for ranged attacks while the chrubot is better for melee attacks.

In conclusion kid icarus uprising is a great game and if you have a 3DS and don't have this game do yourself a favor and go get it because if your a nintendo gamer you wouldn't want to be caught without it.

Thinning out disney's Epic Mickey

Mickey Mouse is one of the world most well known characters in the entertainment universe. But do people know that much about him? What better way to learn than giving the mouse the staring role of disney's "epic mickey". Mickey one day stumbles a upon a wizards lair while he is experimenting with a new project of his: a magic paint brush. After the wizard goes to bed mickey try's the paint brush he accidentally spills a bottle of thinner and before the wizard comes down stairs mickey flees. A few years later he meets the main enemy: the ink blot. He is then transported to a tainted disney world. Everything is different including the statue with mickey and walt now oswald the lucky rabbit and walt. Players control the vintage style mickey and meet older characters from the old disney cartoons such as horace and clarabell the cow. Mickey wields a paint brush that can shoot paint or thinner. This game is defiantly a pick-your-path game. you can use paint to build and thinner to destroy. the game over all plays very well though space mountain segment was somewhat poorly designed the game is still very enjoyable. One thing I personally liked was the zelda reference. When Buluga Billy gives you the watch sketch he says "It's dangerous to go alone take this!" I immediately grabbed my camera and took a picture. All in all this game is great if you have the means to get it do so I can't wait for epic mickey 2.

Digging deep into the hit game minecraft

I know what the blog is called but this is one of the two games I will be reviewing that is not a nintendo game.


Minecraft is a game where everything is made of blocks. If you can imagine it you can build it. this game is a work of art from the creators mojang. The game brings back the days of 8-bit games but in a whole new light. Players can craft almost anything from swords to wooden planks. The game has  many cleaver crafting recipes there are 9 squares (4 if your not using a crafting table) and and you need to put items in them in order to create something so to create sticks simply put one wooden plank on top of the other. Players can make item such as swords or pickaxes with certain material such as wood or cobble stone and upgrade them to iron, gold, or even diamond. the you can dig down into the earth and find many different kinds of ore you need to put into a furnace to make into ingots (besides diamond that comes in the form of small gems after you brake diamond ore). You can also get different texture packs so the world looks different (like zelda or mario for example) you can also get skin packs so your character looks different (like a zombie or even the nyan cat). there are also mods such as portals, (like the aether portal) items, (such as a portal gun) or enemys (such as a wheeping angel from doctor who).

In conclusion minecraft is a great game and weather your a nintendo gamer or not I highly recommend this game. So I guess there's only one question left: what will you create?

Zelda skyward sword soars to the Nintendo Wii

Taking place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The legend of Zelda: skyward sword is a master piece from the minds of Nintendo. The game requires the Wii motion plus add on for the Wii remote which allows you to move links arm any way you want. You move your arm up he moves his arm up. Most of the game takes place away from hyrule. Skyloft a vast land in the sky (hence the name) allows players to play not only on land (or in this case sky-land) but also in flight where players can control a bird called a loft wing and can fly to many floating islands. the story is pretty much the same as usual zelda is kidnapped and you have to save her but this time canon doesn't kidnap her this time a man named grhahim kidnaps the princess. Boss keys are one of the highlights of the game while at the same time I wish they had just stuck to regular keys. For this game you get a certain shaped block and you need to shift it to the same shape of the hole in the door. Another thing about the game is something called the skyward reference from zelda ocarina of time. since the game takes place 100 years before ocarina of time there are a lot of references to skyward sword. When you get the master sword in zelda ocarina of time navi refers to it as "The legendary blade" which would mean someone used it before. The link from skyward sword. and the legendary garments link wheres twighlight princess which would also mean that someone else used them before. The link from skyward sword and finally. Everyone thought the hero bow you find in twighlight princess was the hero bow from zelda majoras mask even though they look completely different. The truth is the bow was actually used by, you guessed it, the link from skyward sword.

I'm not going to tell you any more (I don't want to spoil it!) but if one things for sure the sales for this game are defiantly going to shot skyward.
