Retro Review #1: ultimate Spiderman GBA

Before I start this review, let me explain how these reviews work. I created Retro Reviews so everyone will know what Nintendo used to be compared to what it is now. So these reviews will mainly be on games for the Nintendo 64 Super, Nintendo, NES, Gameboy and maybe a Gamecube game here or there. So without further ado, lets begin the review.

OVER ALL RATING 7.0
For a Gameboy game the graphics were
fantastic.

This game - though it may not be a classic - was a very innovative and imaginative game. Having a comic book feel to it, Spiderman A.K.A Peter Parker is in this game is a very young looking guy - though he looks like the last person you would expect to be Spiderman - he has a certain charm that makes him very likable. Maybe it's his hair I don't know. Anyway. Spiderman is not the only playable character. The second is Venom. Venom gameplay is very different from Spiderman Gameplay. Venom gameplay having that monster tearing through the city feeding on people feeling to it, Spiderman gameplay has that trying to take care of crime without killing anyone feel to it. And having those two different gameplay aspects to it make's the game very fun. Though there wasn't really any varying combat style's or even the ability to make combo's, I feel that the basic punching, kicking, and web shooting, suit this game just fine. This game was a big disappointing because there were not any alternate suits, yes I know it's a gameboy game but still I think they could have added one or two alternate suits like the black suit or something like that.
When playing as Venom if you get
an enemy to a low enough health
press the R button to feed on him
and gain more health.
The characters such as Peter Parker and Mary
Jane have a completely different look.

all in all the game was ok not the best Spider man game I have ever played it's fun. Still I would recommend the Gamecube version.
